KIRKHAM LIBRARY, ANSDELL LIBRARY & FULWOOD LIBRARY

SATURDAY 29TH JULY - MONDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER

Suitable for children age 7 +

FREE to attend during library opening hours.

Something strange has happened to some of Lancashire's Libraries. A mysterious room - or part of a room - has appeared in the children's section of the public libraries in Kirkham, Ansdell and Fulwood. Apparently, out of nowhere!

There’s a desk, brimming with books, papers and artefacts; a couple of
suitcases - locked as far as we can tell - and most strange of all, there’s a talking post box. Nobody is entirely sure how it got there, but after a bit of investigating, we’ve come to the conclusion that it might be part of The
Imaginarium, a mysterious mobile museum that hasn’t been seen by anyone for over 80 years. It’s been missing for so long that most people have forgotten about it.

History tells us that The Imaginarium ran on imagination. Perhaps the imaginative power of Lancashire has summoned it back into being. Or perhaps there’s something here, The Imaginarium wants. We don’t know, but we do think it must have appeared in the children’s section for a reason. That’s why we've joined forces with Lancashire Libraries to invite the children of Lancashire to come and have look for themselves. Perhaps the children can see something we adults can’t.  We’re opening it up for interested children to explore from Saturday 28th July right through the summer holiday. Maybe then we’ll find out what’s really going on.
